Leading the domestic electric mobility space, Tata Motors has introduced an innovative battery-as-a-service model across its volume offerings to make zero-emission vehicles more accessible to personal car buyers. Under this financial arrangement, customers are exempted from paying the battery pack cost upfront during vehicle purchase. Instead, owners pay for battery usage based on actual driving at approximately Rs 2.6 per kilometre. This setup substantially lowers the initial purchase barrier, bringing electric cars directly in line with conventional petrol and diesel passenger vehicles.
