Triumph's 350cc Lineup Gets Costlier Again Just Weeks After GST-Linked Price Cut

Triumph has raised prices of its 350cc range, including the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400 XC and Thruxton 400, by ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 from June 2026, just weeks after an April 2026 price cut.

Triumph has hiked the prices of its 350cc motorcycle range once again, just weeks after cutting them following an engine downsize. The latest revision, effective from June 2026, applies to the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400 XC and Thruxton 400. Back in April 2026, Triumph had trimmed prices on this very lineup by downsizing the engine to 349cc to pass on the benefit of GST 2.0. That relief, though, did not last long, with a fresh round of price increases now in effect.

Why prices are climbing again

The hike comes amid rising demand for premium entry level performance motorcycles in India. Triumph's strong brand value, solid build quality and engaging riding experience continue to make these bikes popular among young and enthusiast riders. The price increase may disappoint some prospective buyers, but the range still offers a compelling mix of style, performance and reliability.

How much costlier each model has become

Triumph has raised ex-showroom prices in Delhi for its 350cc lineup by amounts ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000. The Speed T4 now costs ₹1.99 lakh, the Speed 400 has moved up to ₹2.34 lakh, and the Scrambler 400 XC is priced at ₹2.94 lakh. The Thruxton 400 now retails at ₹2.70 lakh. Notably, this marks the first time the Speed T4 has become costlier than the older 400cc version it replaced. Prices for the Scrambler 400 X and Tracker 400 have not been revised yet. Dealers had initially expected a steeper hike of ₹5,000 to ₹10,000, but the company eventually settled for a more moderate increase.

Design and looks remain untouched

Despite the price revision, Triumph has kept the core design, feature list and chassis of its 350cc range almost entirely unchanged. The bikes continue to carry "400" badging even with the smaller engine, a nod to brand continuity. The Speed 400 and Speed T4 stick to a naked roadster style, featuring a round headlamp, a muscular fuel tank, classic lines and minimal body panels for an eye catching look. The Scrambler 400 X and Scrambler 400 XC follow an adventure scrambler theme, with high ground clearance, knobby tyres, a high mounted exhaust and rally inspired handlebars. The Thruxton 400, meanwhile, leans into cafe racer vibes with a sporty look, low handlebar and single seat styling.

Build quality and hardware

Build quality remains premium, in line with Triumph's usual standards. The hybrid spine or perimeter tubular steel frame is sturdy and twist resistant, aiding handling. Kerb weight varies by model, ranging from 179 kg for the Speed 400 to 190 kg for the Scrambler XC. On suspension, the Speed 400 and Scrambler variants get USD forks for a better ride, while the Speed T4 makes do with more affordable telescopic forks and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by dual disc brakes at the front and rear, backed by dual channel ABS. LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster and, on some models, traction control add a modern touch.

Engine, power and performance

The entire range is powered by a 349cc liquid cooled, 4 valve DOHC single cylinder engine with a shorter stroke than before. Bosch's electronic fuel injection and throttle control system ensures smooth power delivery, while a 6 speed gearbox with an A&S clutch makes shifting easy. On output, the Speed 400 and Scrambler variants produce 37 PS at 8500 rpm and 32 Nm at 7000 rpm. The Thruxton 400 is the most powerful of the lot, putting out 40 PS and 32 Nm. The Speed T4 makes 29 PS at 7500 rpm and 31 Nm at 5500 rpm.

Compared with the older 400cc version, the new range gives up 2 to 3 PS in power and 5 to 5.5 Nm in torque, though low end torque remains strong. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 8 to 9 seconds, and top speed comes in at around 147 kmph. Throttle response in the city is sharp, making overtaking easy, while cruising at 100 to 120 kmph on the highway remains comfortable. Vibration control has also improved, particularly in the mid range. On efficiency, these motorcycles return between 22 and 25 km per litre of petrol.

What this means for you

If you are planning to buy a 350cc segment motorcycle, this hike will directly affect how much you pay.

  • For buyers: Purchasing the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400 XC or Thruxton 400 will now cost ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 more than before.
  • For new bookings: Anyone booking after June 2026 will get delivery at the new, higher ex-showroom price.
