To bolster safety measures for female students traveling to schools and colleges, the state is equipping the specialized all-women police unit known as the 'Police Didi' or 'Abhaya Brigade' with 4,700 scooters and motorcycles. These patrol vehicles will be deployed around educational hubs and vulnerable transit routes to maintain vigilant oversight. The increased mobility is specifically designed to ensure rapid police response whenever emergency assistance or intervention is requested by students.
Monthly Fellowship of ₹10,000 to Support Higher Education and PhD Scholars
With an aim to encourage women scholars to pursue advanced research, the state has introduced the Mukhyamantri Balika PhD Fellowship Scheme. Under this initiative, approximately 1,000 eligible female doctoral candidates across Bihar will receive dedicated financial support. Selected researchers will be awarded ₹10,000 per month for a duration of four years. The program is structured to ease financial burdens, allowing young women scholars to focus fully on academic excellence and innovative research projects.
Empowering Female Entrepreneurs via the Bihar Ki Beti Startup Challenge
To foster self-employment and inspire women to launch business enterprises, the government is launching the Bihar ki Beti Startup Challenge. Under the framework of this scheme, eligible women looking to launch new businesses or scale existing venture ideas can access seed funding ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹200,000. This financial backing seeks to catalyze a new wave of female-led enterprises and enhance financial independence among women in the state.
Launching Student Support Camps to Address Campus Grievances
Parallel to female welfare programs, state leadership is focusing on systemic improvements across educational campuses. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary recently inaugurated the 'Vidyarthi Sahyog Shivir' (Student Support Camp) at the Bihar Engineering College located in Bidupur within Vaishali district. Rolled out under the state's broader 'Saat Nischay-3' development framework, these camps are established to provide students with a transparent, responsive platform for grievance resolution.
Monthly Grievance Redressal Schedule and 30-Day Resolution Timeline
Going forward, these Student Support Camps will take place regularly on the fourth Tuesday of every month across all educational institutions in the state. The camps will serve as dedicated forums to collect student feedback and resolve issues concerning academic administration, examination schedules, hostel accommodation, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, and campus canteens. The administration has committed to resolving all valid complaints within a 30-day timeframe to ensure campus environments remain focused on learning.
