To empower local youth and foster self-employment opportunities across rural and urban pockets, the Punjab National Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute (PNB RSETI) located at Matki Jharauli in Saharanpur is launching a comprehensive skill development drive. Starting August 22, the institute will host a 10-day free residential training program dedicated to mushroom cultivation, product processing, and strategic marketing.

A common bottleneck for new agri-entrepreneurs is the lack of direct market access and post-harvest preservation techniques, which often leads to financial losses. Addressing this issue directly, the upcoming workshop goes beyond basic farming techniques to emphasize value addition. According to Amit Kumar Chaube from PNB RSETI, expert trainers will instruct participants on manufacturing value-added items such as mushroom pickles and papads. Trainees will also learn specialized packaging techniques to prevent spoilage, alongside practical insights into marketing their finished goods effectively.

To ensure accessibility for economically underprivileged individuals, the entire program, including high-quality instruction, daily meals, and overnight lodging, is offered completely free of cost. Admission is strictly capped at 30 seats, which will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible candidates.
