The domestic dispute surrounding Khagaria Superintendent of Police Bhanu Pratap Singh and his wife, Pooja Singh, has escalated further in Bihar. After returning from Patna, Pooja Singh arrived at the official residence of the SP in Khagaria, where she spent hours attempting to enter the premises. The security guards posted at the entrance refused to open the gate despite her repeated requests. Pooja Singh asserted that security personnel acted on explicit instructions from Bhanu Pratap Singh to bar her entry, preventing her from seeing her young daughter.
Plea Reaches State Women Commission and Chief Minister House
The familial discord has progressively reached senior administrative and governmental corridors. The matter was brought before the Bihar State Commission for Women, and Pooja Singh had previously met high-ranking officers within the police department in Patna to seek intervention. With resolution remaining elusive, she took her protest directly toward the seat of state leadership. On Sunday, she staged a sit-in demonstration near the Chief Minister House, demanding administrative attention to her plight and reuniting with her family.
Plea to Rebuild Family and Meet Daughter
Pooja Singh maintained that she does not seek a formal divorce or unnecessary judicial contention. Her stated objective is to resolve the marital discord and re-establish a stable household with her spouse and daughter. According to her, she has been denied any access to her six-year-old daughter for the past eight to nine months. She stated that this prolonged separation has forced her to reach out to departmental authorities and demonstrate publicly.
Allegations Surrounding Past Marriage and Family Pressure
Pooja Singh stated that Bhanu Pratap Singh was in a romantic relationship with her prior to clearing the civil services and joining the IPS, following which they entered into marriage. She further alleged that the police officer and his family members now intend to sever ties with her to arrange his marriage to another woman. Faced with this situation, she has been moving between administrative offices and public venues to seek redressal and secure her place in the family.
