Nighttime Evacuation Orders in Gironde
Officials in the Gironde department, which encompasses the city of Bordeaux, took swift action as the threat level escalated. During the night, authorities issued urgent evacuation orders for residents living in five additional districts situated southwest of the metropolitan area. The sudden orders meant thousands of families had to abandon their residences in the dark to seek safety from the fast-approaching firefront, adding to the growing humanitarian crisis in the region.
Strong Winds and Traffic Disruptions
