Shootout Near Karodha Village
A major encounter broke out in Haryana's Jhajjar district on Friday evening, resulting in the death of a wanted criminal. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay, a resident of Birdhana village, who was the prime suspect in a high-profile murder case. The confrontation took place near Karodha village after law enforcement received critical intelligence about his movements.
According to TrendKia, the police had received a tip-off indicating that Sanjay was planning to execute a major crime in the area. Acting swiftly on this information, a police team set up a strategic blockade near Rankhanda road. When Sanjay arrived at the spot, he found himself cornered by the police force.
Retaliatory Fire and Narrow Escapes
Instead of surrendering, the accused opened fire at the police officers. The police team quickly retaliated in self-defense, critically injuring Sanjay in the ensuing gunfight. He was immediately rushed to the local civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The operation also left Sub-Inspector Sanyam injured after a bullet struck his arm. Two other police officers involved in the operation had a miraculous escape, as their bulletproof jackets successfully deflected the rounds fired by the suspect. Following the incident, senior police officers along with a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation and collect evidence.
Accused of Killing His Wife and Vijay Saini
Sanjay had been on the run for a significant period, posing a major challenge for the local police. He was the prime accused in the double murder of his wife and Vijay Saini, a resident of Dujana village. His evasion of arrest had made him one of the most sought-after suspects in the region.
Confirming the details of the encounter, DCP Dharna Yadav stated that the criminal initiated the gunfire upon spotting the police team. The police responded with retaliatory fire, leading to injuries that proved fatal for the suspect. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
