A major development has emerged in the Mumbai Crime Branch investigation into the recent threats made to NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique. Preliminary police findings indicate that gangster Zeeshan Akhtar, accused of sending the threatening audio messages, is currently hiding in Pakistan. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect routed his digital communications through a European VPN server to conceal his location.
Voice Sample Matching and Technical Analysis
To verify Zeeshan Akhtar's involvement in the crime, the Mumbai Police team relied on key technical evidence. During the digital examination of the threatening audio clip, investigators cross-matched the voice against older voice samples of Zeeshan Akhtar maintained in the records of the Punjab Police. The successful match between the two voice recordings provided investigators with crucial evidence of his direct link to the case.
Pakistan Hideout and Shehzad Bhatti's Support
Investigators suspect that gangster Shehzad Bhatti is harbouring Zeeshan Akhtar in Pakistan while providing him with essential shelter, logistics, and technical assistance. The Mumbai Police are now actively mapping this cross-border criminal network to uncover the full operational link between Bhatti and Akhtar. Following the murder of Baba Siddique in October 2024, Zeeshan Akhtar fled India to evade arrest.
Foreign Network and Technical Assistance Probe
Since his escape from India, security agencies have been tracing Zeeshan Akhtar's international contacts, local associates, and the technological systems deployed to issue threats. A specialized unit of the Mumbai Crime Branch is currently identifying the specific individuals in Pakistan offering support to Zeeshan Akhtar, as well as determining who supplied the technical tools necessary for executing the threats.
