Law enforcement personnel in Nagpur, Maharashtra, are currently dealing with a uniquely difficult suspect who was arrested for committing heinous acts against a 16-year-old girl. Even after being locked behind bars, the accused continues to throw tantrums and has raised demands for restaurant-style pizza inside his cell. Beyond food, he has also insisted on getting a cushioned mattress for sleeping along with mosquito repellent machines. Responding to these eccentric requests, police officials noted that while legitimate and reasonable demands of inmates are met according to jail manual norms, such absurd and out-of-touch expectations cannot possibly be fulfilled. This shocking ordeal surfaced after the suspect falsely befriended the victim using a fake Instagram ID before subjecting her to severe trauma.
The 20-year-old BBA student has shown persistent non-cooperation during questioning sessions. He has raised complaints about dirty walls and foul-smelling toilets within the lockup premises, adamantly refusing to assist investigators while demanding premium meals during late hours. In an unexpected turn, the accused has turned the tables by accusing the police force of stealing his money. Furthermore, in a bizarre attempt at deflection, he has thrown counter-allegations of abuse directly at the survivor.
Police Forced Medical Examination at Hospital
According to statements shared by police authorities, the suspect has completely stonewalled investigative efforts at every turn. He explicitly refused to share the unlock passwords for his own phone as well as the victim's device. Furthermore, he resisted undergoing the mandatory medical test, prompting law enforcement to take firm action. Officers forcefully escorted him to a hospital to complete the medical examination. During this process, the accused also alleged that the police had confiscated his shoes and spectacles against his will.
Victim Held Captive in Hotel Room for 24 Hours
The main accused, identified as Nirbhay Pakhare, had created a deceptive profile under the alias 'Akash Mehra' on Instagram last year. Leveraging this fake persona, he initiated contact with the minor girl and established regular communication. Once he managed to acquire private and sensitive photographs of the victim, he resorted to relentless blackmail, forcing the girl to endure the ordeal in silence. Prior to his arrest, the accused locked the victim inside a hotel room and held her captive for a grueling 24 hours. Acting swiftly on a complaint lodged by the girl's family members, police reached the location and forced open the door to find the victim tied to a bed while the accused stood nearby holding a belt. Authorities immediately rescued the survivor, transferred her to a hospital, and apprehended the perpetrator.
Case Registered Under POCSO Act and Kidnapping
Providing details regarding the ongoing legal proceedings, a police official confirmed that a formal case has been filed against Nirbhay Pakhare under stringent provisions including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and charges related to kidnapping. The official added that the accused has been remanded to a two-day police custody period. As an essential part of the comprehensive investigation, authorities are thoroughly scanning Pakhare's mobile phone and his active social media accounts to gather further evidence.
