A remarkable display of raw courage has emerged from the Cuttack district of Odisha, where a young teenager fought off a wild boar in a gripping struggle for survival. The incident, which unfolded in the Banki area, has left locals stunned and turned the 14-year-old boy into a symbol of incredible grit and presence of mind.
Sudden Attack Inside the Canal
The harrowing episode took place on Tuesday when 14-year-old Suman Behera, son of Sudarshan Behera, was inside a local canal. Without any warning, a wild boar charged at the teenager, launching a sudden and vicious assault. Panic could easily have taken over in such a terrifying situation, but Suman chose to fight back rather than surrender. Instead of running or freezing, he grabbed onto the wild animal with all his might, refusing to let go in a desperate bid to protect his life from the charging beast.
Fire Service Rescue Operation
As the struggle continued, the Banki fire service team was urgently alerted about the dangerous situation. Responding swiftly to the emergency call, the firefighters rushed to the scene without losing a moment. Upon arrival, the rescue personnel witnessed the astonishing sight of the young boy locked in combat with the boar, holding onto the animal tightly to shield himself. The team immediately intervened, expertly separating the teenager from the beast and securing his release from the jaws of danger.
Medical Treatment and Aftermath
Although the fire personnel managed to pull Suman to safety, the fierce encounter with the wild boar left him with several injuries. Following the successful rescue, he was immediately transported to the Banki Sub-Divisional Hospital for necessary medical treatment. The bravery displayed by the 14-year-old Suman Behera during those critical moments has since become the talk of the town, highlighting an unbelievable tale of survival against odds.
