Railway passengers commuting between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will experience substantial schedule revisions across September and October. Due to patch doubling infrastructure work along the Ajmer-Chanderiya rail section of North Western Railway, the regular movement of the Jodhpur-Indore-Jodhpur Express will remain altered. Railway authorities have scheduled track modernization alongside signalling upgrades, requiring the diversion of regular services onto an alternate corridor and the outright cancellation of multiple trips during early October.
Infrastructure Doubling and Interlocking Schedule
The operational adjustments stem from essential patch doubling projects scheduled between Jharwasa, Bandanwara, and Singawal railway stations within the Ajmer division. Completing this corridor expansion demands executing pre-non-interlocking, non-interlocking, and post-non-interlocking technical procedures in designated phases. Because modernizing track safety and signalling lines necessitates temporary traffic blocks, passenger operations on the existing route cannot continue without these temporary operational adjustments.
Route Diversions Between 16 September and 3 October
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Hitesh Yadav outlined the alternate arrangements finalized for passenger transit. Under this schedule, train number 14801 Jodhpur-Indore Express will operate on a diverted path for 18 trips from 16 September through 3 October. Instead of traversing its standard alignment through Marwar Junction, Chittorgarh, and Ratlam, the train will run via Marwar Junction, Ajmer, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, and Ratlam. To minimize travel disruption, designated halts have been added at Kishangarh, Jaipur, Durgapura, Banasthali Niwai, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, and Nagda. The extended path will naturally alter overall transit timings and arrival hours.
Full Cancellation of 11 Services in Early October
As the track integration nears its peak engineering window, regular operations will shut down entirely for several consecutive days across both directions. Train number 14801 Jodhpur-Indore Express will stay cancelled for five trips between 4 October and 8 October. In the reverse direction, train number 14802 Indore-Jodhpur Express will suspend operations for six trips between 4 October and 9 October, bringing the aggregate count of cancelled journeys to 11. Commuters holding tickets for these specific dates must seek alternative transport methods or modify their itineraries.
Passenger Advisory and Transit Preparation
Railway officials have urged travelers to review running status details before embarking on their journeys. Because train diversions introduce different intermediate stations and revised timing schedules, arriving at stations without confirming live train locations could lead to avoidable delays. Passengers with advance bookings during the early October cancellation window are particularly advised to verify their reservation status and plan their itineraries accordingly.
