He declared that public power is a solemn responsibility to repay the electorate's faith rather than an instrument to run hereditary fiefdoms. Highlighting the decisive mandate delivered in the 2026 assembly elections, he noted that the electorate explicitly chose TVK to usher in governance dedicated entirely to public welfare.
Rejection of Entrenched Dynastic Ambitions
Focusing on the opposition's political rhetoric, the Chief Minister pointed out that certain political figures still cling to the illusion that state authority belongs exclusively to their lineage. He observed that rival leaders appear incapable of accepting the reality of the 2026 general election, when voters decisively ousted the DMK from power. Vijay stressed that those leaders continue to behave as though their family still dictates the political destiny of Tamil Nadu, completely ignoring the sovereign will of the people.
'But there is no thought of monarchy or rule of a king in our minds.'
The TVK founder maintained that his movement entered politics with a singular focus on public service, reiterating that his government would safeguard the immense public trust placed in his leadership.
Focus on Administrative Integrity and Liquor Outlet Closures
Presenting a report card of his early days in office, the Chief Minister underscored an uncompromising stance against institutional malpractice. He emphasized that ever since his cabinet assumed office, administrative mechanisms have operated with total commitment toward ensuring bribery-free and transparent governance. Demonstrating swift fulfillment of pre-poll promises, he pointed to immediate public welfare decisions, notably the closure of 717 TASMAC liquor shops operating in close proximity to schools, colleges, and religious places.
Women's Safety Reforms and Anti-Narcotics Crackdown
Outlining policing and safety measures, Vijay shared vital structural interventions introduced by the state. To guarantee rigorous protection and fast response mechanisms for women, the government established a specialized task force called 'Singappen'. To make this protective network fully operational across vital zones, 2,546 new posts were created within law enforcement. Monitoring and rapid ground action in sensitive cases form the core objective of this force.
Simultaneously, the administration launched an extensive drive to eradicate illicit narcotics. Dedicated operational units have been instituted across 37 districts and 9 municipal corporations throughout the state. Currently, 65 specialized teams are actively investigating, tracking, and curbing drug-related crimes across Tamil Nadu.
Major Welfare Rollouts: Power Subsidies, Dairy Prices, and Free Transit
The Chief Minister also detailed several welfare measures implemented to ease financial burdens on households. The administration has operationalized the supply of free domestic electricity up to 200 units. To bolster the rural economy and support dairy farmers, the procurement price for milk was raised by 6 rupees per litre.
Highlighting social welfare schemes, Vijay referred to the 'Thaimaman Thanga Modhiram' initiative, which took effect on September 28 and presented newborn infants with 22-carat gold rings. Furthermore, the 'Vettri Payanam' project is scheduled for a statewide launch on October 2, granting women the benefit of free bus travel across Tamil Nadu's public bus fleet to make daily commutes accessible and cost-effective.
Poll Schedule for Dharapuram Constituency
With voting day drawing closer, political outfits across Tamil Nadu have intensified their grassroots campaigning in the assembly segment. According to the notified election schedule, polling in Dharapuram will take place on October 6, followed by the counting of votes on October 9. Vijay's high-decibel campaign rally has set the benchmark for the TVK campaign ahead of the crucial ballot.
