Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered his prayers with full rituals at the historic Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple in Barabanki on Monday. Following his visit to the sacred shrine, he addressed a massive public gathering where he made a major announcement regarding the state's infrastructure and religious tourism. The Chief Minister declared that a grand and expansive corridor will be constructed at the Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple, modeled entirely on the lines of the prestigious Kashi Vishwanath Temple corridor in Varanasi. Alongside this significant development announcement, he used the public platform to launch a scathing political attack on the opposition parties, specifically targeting the Samajwadi Party and the Congress.
Allegations of Neglected Heritage and Graveyard Politics
While addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised that the Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple is a major center of faith, drawing lakhs of devoted pilgrims from several surrounding districts on a regular basis. Despite this immense public devotion, he expressed deep disappointment that the holy site had been left in a completely dilapidated condition for many decades. He pointed out that while the temple's neglect before 1947 could easily be attributed to foreign colonial rule, the continued apathy toward the shrine even after India's independence was totally beyond comprehension. Launching a direct assault on his political rivals, the Chief Minister alleged that the previous governments only focused on allocating funds for graveyards and constructing their boundary walls, doing absolutely nothing for the upliftment of the Lodheshwar temple. He assured the public that his current government has already allocated a dedicated budget for the Lodheshwar Mahadev Corridor, stating that preserving such heritage is the true marker of Sanatan Dharma. He expressed strong confidence that just as pilgrims return from Kashi and Ayodhya with profound blessings, visitors to the newly completed Lodheshwar corridor will do exactly the same.
Stern Message on Law and Order and Mention of BrahMos
Shifting his focus to the crucial issue of law and order, Yogi Adityanath drew a very sharp contrast between the governance models of the past and the present. He stated that while the regimes of previous governments were synonymous with the terror of country-made pistols and bombs, the current era in Uttar Pradesh is defined by modern defence manufacturing, including the BrahMos missile. Taking a harsh dig at the Samajwadi Party, he reminded the audience of an old, popular local saying which implied that daughters used to get terrified simply by the sight of a party worker. However, he assured everyone that the situation has transformed so completely that both women and traders are fully safe today, operating their businesses without any fear of extortion. Issuing a very stern public warning to criminals and anti-social elements, the Chief Minister declared that anyone attempting to create a ruckus or disturb the state's peace now will only find a place in either jail or jahannum. Furthermore, he heavily criticised the former regimes for frequently halting sacred Hindu processions, such as the Kanwar Yatra and Ramnavami celebrations, under the false guise of secularism.
Claims of Financial Mismanagement in Major Projects
During the rally, the Chief Minister presented a detailed comparison of financial management between his administration and the previous Samajwadi Party government. He cited several major infrastructure projects to illustrate how public money was allegedly misused in the past. Highlighting the JPNIC building project in the capital city of Lucknow, he pointed out that it was originally supposed to be constructed for a budget of 200 crore during the SP regime. However, he noted that even after spending a staggering 800 crore of taxpayers' money, the building still remains hopelessly incomplete to this day. Similarly, he brought up the much-discussed Purvanchal Expressway. He explained that while the tender for this massive project was set at 15,200 crore during the Samajwadi Party's rule, his own government successfully completed the exact same project for just 11,800 crore. He also touched upon the Gomti River Front project, asserting that despite a massive expenditure of 1,700 crore, the work was left entirely unfinished. Emphasising strict financial accountability, he firmly stated that these public funds do not belong to the Saifai family, but are the rightful property of the hardworking public.
Redirecting Funds for Development and a Cautionary Appeal
Explaining his government's future roadmap, the Chief Minister stated that the public money which was previously wasted has now been purposefully redirected toward the construction of the Lodheshwar Mahadev Corridor. Announcing further infrastructure upgrades, he revealed that to ensure seamless connectivity for the growing number of pilgrims, a brand-new four-lane road will be constructed leading directly to the temple corridor. Concluding his powerful address, Yogi Adityanath strongly advised the public to remain extremely cautious of both the Samajwadi Party and the Congress. He warned the voters that anyone who chooses to align with these opposition parties will only face increased danger in the future. He earnestly urged the people to elect good leaders in order to secure a bright and prosperous future for themselves. Finally, he proclaimed that the lotus flower of the ruling party has now received the divine blessings of Lodheshwar Mahadev itself.
