A major conspiracy to eliminate a local history-sheeter was intercepted in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district through a swift joint operation conducted by the Rashmi police station team and the District Special Team (DST). Law enforcement officials cordoned off and apprehended six armed criminals before they could execute the planned murder. The raid resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, bladed weapons, and two vehicles, effectively stopping an escalating gang war over territorial dominance in the region.
Weapons and Vehicles Seized in Coordinated Operation
According to police details, two of the detained individuals have been identified as Rahul Khatik and Rahul Keer, both residents of Rashmi. The remaining four associates—Ajay Bharwad, Chirag Yadav, Faizan Usmani, and Kana Ravindra—are residents of Surat in Gujarat. Acting on actionable intelligence that an armed group was assembling to ambush and execute a local history-sheeter, specialized police teams mounted an interception and rounded up all six suspects before they could strike.
A thorough search of the suspects led to the recovery of a country-made pistol, a revolver, four live cartridges, and several edged weapons. Officers also impounded two vehicles found in their possession—a Creta and a Swift car. Investigators are currently questioning the accused to ascertain how these vehicles, along with the recovered weapons and ammunition, were designated to be deployed during the ambush.
Past Record of Kidnapping and Firing on Surat Police
Preliminary investigations into the criminal background of this gang have uncovered a pattern of high-stakes offenses across state lines. Members of this network were previously implicated in the abduction of a prominent businessman in Surat, Gujarat. During that incident, the gang successfully extorted a ransom of approximately 1 crore rupees before releasing the victim. Furthermore, when law enforcement attempted to intercept them in Gujarat, the criminals opened fire directly on Surat police personnel. Investigators are now compiling full dossiers on their previous charges and verifying their operational contacts across regions.
Territorial Rivalry and Target with 16 Criminal Cases
Interrogations indicate that the primary motivation behind the murder plot stemmed from an intense rivalry for local supremacy between competing criminal factions. The intended target of the assassination is himself a hardened offender who faces 16 criminal cases registered across different police stations. Because of this background, authorities are examining the plot through the lens of an active gang rivalry aimed at consolidating control over illicit activities.
Police have formally booked the six individuals under charges related to organized crime preparation and the Arms Act. Ongoing inquiries aim to expose any handlers or financiers operating behind the scenes, identify who supplied the illegal firearms, and map out the gang's support network across Rajasthan and Surat. Officials indicate that additional arrests are likely as further disclosures emerge during interrogation.
