High drama and violent scenes unfolded at the Dausa district hospital premises in Rajasthan on Wednesday following the suspicious death of a married woman. The deceased, identified as Kaju Meena, a resident of Aaluda village, was brought to the district hospital after her death under unclear circumstances. Soon after arriving at the medical facility, an argument erupted between her maternal relatives and her in-laws, which quickly devolved into a full-scale physical brawl. Family members from both sides exchanged fierce punches, kicks, and slaps, transforming the hospital into a chaotic battleground and creating widespread panic among patients and staff.
Dowry Allegations and Dispute Over Autopsy Procedure
Initial inspection of Kaju Meena's body revealed strangulation marks on her neck, suggesting a case of suicide at first glance. However, her maternal family strongly rejected the suicide angle, alleging that she was murdered for dowry. According to her relatives, her in-laws had been harassing her for a long time regarding dowry demands, with her husband specifically demanding a Bolero car. The violent confrontation at the hospital was triggered by a disagreement over legal procedures. Her in-laws insisted on conducting an official postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death, whereas her maternal family wanted to take her body away immediately without undergoing an autopsy.
Scuffle During Body Transfer Leaves Two Injured
The conflict reached a boiling point when hospital authorities and police personnel attempted to move the body from the emergency ward to the mortuary. En route, members of both families clashed once again, launching a physical attack on each other. Due to the intense scuffle and chaos, the authorities were unable to reach the mortuary with the body. Two individuals sustained injuries during the violent melee. Realizing that the situation was spiraling out of control, police officers had to step in forcefully, securing the body and transferring it back to the emergency ward under heavy protection.
Deployment of Police Forces and RAC Restores Order
Upon receiving urgent alerts about the riotous situation at the hospital, top administrative and police officials rushed to the spot. Nangal DSP Sheeshram and Kotwali Police Station Incharge Bhagwan Sahay Sharma arrived at the district hospital with additional police forces. Given the sensitivity of the incident, police personnel from several nearby police stations along with a company of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) were deployed across the hospital grounds. Senior police officers initiated discussions with both factions, managed to pacify the enraged relatives, and restored peace on the premises. Police have registered the case and launched an in-depth investigation into the matter.
