Through rigorous effort and unwavering discipline, Dr. Anil Kumar achieved success in the UPSC civil service examination. He secured an impressive 613th rank in the UPSC CSE and is recognized as a dedicated 2016 batch IPS officer. His official ID number is 20161613, and he officially joined the police service on December 19, 2016. Leveraging his exceptional professional competence, he assumed charge as the SSP of Azamgarh on September 18, 2025. According to various media reports, he scored 90 percent in his 12th-grade examinations and originally entered the medical profession primarily to honor his grandfather's dying wish.

Known for his uncompromising working style and strict administrative approach, Dr. Anil Kumar is widely regarded as a premier encounter specialist within the Uttar Pradesh Police.
