A heartbreaking case has emerged from Fatehpur district in Uttar Pradesh, where a young man allegedly took his own life after being troubled by his wife's delayed return from her parents' home. Moments before his death, he had called her, asked her to take care of their children, and told her how much he loved her, a call that turned out to be his last, and news of his death soon after left the entire family and village in deep shock.
Body found hanging in Pathri Majra Adhawal village
The incident occurred in Pathri Majra Adhawal village under the jurisdiction of Lalauli police station. According to police, 35 year old Amit Nishad was found hanging inside his house. On being alerted, police reached the spot, took custody of the body and sent it for a post mortem examination, and an investigation into the case is currently underway. Family members said Amit was physically disabled and supported his household by working as a daily wage labourer. His wife, Anita, had gone to her parents home to attend a wedding function. Amit had repeatedly asked her to return home, but she had not come back yet, and relatives say her prolonged absence had been weighing heavily on him.
A last five minute call before he ended his life
Just before taking the extreme step, Amit reportedly called his wife Anita. The two spoke for around five minutes. According to family members, he told her on the call to take care of the children from now on and said he loved her very much. Soon after, he hanged himself inside the house using a sari. When he did not step out of the room for a long time, relatives went looking for him and found him hanging. The sight sent the family into shock, with loud cries echoing through the house, and within a short while a large number of villagers had gathered at the spot.
Wife and three young children left behind
Amit is survived by his wife Anita and their three young children, seven year old daughter Mansi, five year old son Ayush, and two year old son Abhishek, all of whom have now lost their father. The tragedy has left the entire village in mourning. The station in-charge said the body has been sent for post mortem, and further legal proceedings will follow once the report is received and the investigation is complete. Police say every aspect of the case is being examined.
