Under this plan, women abandoned through triple talaq, victims of nikah halala, and impoverished widows will receive free housing to rebuild their lives. The primary target group includes individuals who lack personal accommodation and endure dire financial deprivation without family support.
Aligning Resources with Welfare Objectives
The core objective of waqf assets has historically centered on supporting vulnerable members of the community, and this initiative seeks to channel those resources directly to their designated purpose. The administration emphasizes an honest effort to ensure that marginalized women, particularly those pushed to the periphery due to divorce or widowhood, regain their fundamental rights to shelter and security through organized community holdings.
Reclaiming Board Holdings Across Districts
Significant land reserves, amounting to thousands of bighas across every district, remain under the purview of the waqf administration. Waqf Board chairman Shadab Shams stated that an aggressive drive will be undertaken to remove illegal occupations across these properties. Once freed from encroachers, the reclaimed land parcels and existing structures will be formally allotted to safeguard the residential needs of distressed women.

In many instances following triple talaq, men enter into second marriages, leaving their former spouses without maintenance or domestic stability. Consequently, affected daughters and sisters often face severe emotional pain alongside the struggle for basic survival.
