Young job seekers in and around Jodhpur have a fresh shot at a government-recognised technical qualification, with the Government Industrial Training Institute, Jodhpur formally opening admissions for the new 2026-27 academic session across several popular trades. Aspiring candidates can submit their applications online right up to July 23, 2026. For students who want to move straight from school into a skilled trade or their own small business, this admission window is being seen as a genuinely valuable opportunity.
How and where to apply
The entire admission process has once again been moved online, with applications being accepted through the Rajasthan government's official SSO Portal. Candidates who are unable to fill out the form on their own can walk into any nearby e-Mitra centre, where staff will help them complete the application with ease. The institute's administration has specifically urged young applicants not to wait until the last date, warning that a surge in server traffic or a technical glitch close to the deadline could make it harder to submit the form in time. Candidates have been advised to finish their applications well in advance so that this admission window does not slip away because of a last-minute hiccup.
Trades on offer this session
Keeping in mind both the growing interest among youth and the evolving needs of modern industry, the institute is running a mix of technical and non-technical trades this year. The core technical courses include Draftsman Civil, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC), and Instrument Mechanic. Beyond these, candidates looking to build a career in the digital space can opt for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Stenography in Hindi and English, and Secretariat Assistant, among other professional courses on offer. Across all these programmes, the emphasis stays on hands-on, practical training and technical skill rather than textbook learning alone, the goal being that graduates are equipped both to land a good job and to set up their own enterprise if they choose to.
Age, eligibility and documents required
The minimum age for admission to these ITI courses has been fixed at 14 years. Minimum educational qualification varies from trade to trade, ranging from a Class 8 pass for some courses to a Class 10 or Class 12 pass for others. While filling out the online form, candidates will need to have the original mark sheet of Class 8, 10 or 12 as applicable, an Aadhaar card, a recent colour passport-size photograph, a caste certificate wherever applicable under the rules, an active mobile number and a valid email ID ready. The institute has also advised applicants to carefully check the eligibility criteria of their chosen trade before applying, so that they do not run into problems later in the process.
A help desk is on hand for queries
To assist candidates and clear up any doubts about the admission process, a dedicated help desk has been set up on the Government ITI campus. Through this desk, students can get detailed information on the trades being offered, the total number of seats available, the actual duration of each course, the required educational qualification, the selection process, and the courses' technical recognition under NCVT and SCVT. Once the online application window closes, the merit list, seat allotment and final admission will all be carried out strictly as per the government's prescribed rules, leaving no room for arbitrary decisions in the selection process.
