Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein met with Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (Retd) to extend a formal invitation for an upcoming sacred event. During their discussion at Lok Bhawan in Itanagar, the Deputy Chief Minister requested the Governor to grace the reception ceremony of the Holy Relics of Bhagwan Shakyamuni Buddha, which is scheduled to take place in Namsai on November 14, 2026.
National Culture Ministry Aegis and Public Exhibition
The sacred exposition is being organized under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Culture from November 1 to 20, 2026. Given the rich Buddhist heritage embedded across regions like Tawang, West Kameng, and Namsai, this exhibition is anticipated to offer a rare spiritual milestone for local residents. The holy relics will be made accessible for public darshan across Tawang, Bomdila, and Namsai, allowing countless devotees to pay their respects and seek spiritual blessings.
Spreading Messages of Harmony
Organizers emphasize that the exposition carries a profound message of peace, compassion, and universal harmony. Relics of Lord Buddha command immense reverence among global adherents of Buddhism and are exceptionally displayed for public viewing. Their arrival in Arunachal Pradesh is expected to draw large congregations of monks, practitioners, and travelers from across the state and adjacent territories.
Infrastructure and Development Talks
Beyond the religious ceremony, the high-level meeting encompassed crucial state governance priorities. Chowna Mein shared in a post on X that both leaders evaluated vital developmental issues, focusing on transportation infrastructure, regional connectivity, youth empowerment initiatives, and employment generation.
Welfare Schemes and Future Investments
The dialogue further addressed the execution of existing social welfare programs, the implementation timeline of centrally funded projects, and the state government infrastructure investment strategy spanning 2026 to 2029. Officials reiterated their commitment to strengthening ongoing administrative mechanisms aimed at overall public welfare and regional progress.
