A private helicopter crashed on the Greek tourist island of Siphnos on Monday, killing all three people who were on board. Thick smoke billowed into the sky over the island soon after the crash, visible from the surrounding areas.
Where and how the crash happened
According to local authorities, the helicopter went down in the Tholos area of Siphnos. It caught fire immediately after the crash, causing panic at the scene. Fire department crews rushed to the site and began working to bring the blaze under control.
Three bodies recovered from the wreckage
The fire department said three bodies were recovered from the crash site. Initial information indicates everyone on board died at the scene. Rescue teams worked to put out the fire while also pulling the bodies from the wreckage.
Identities and cause still unclear
