Ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Samajwadi Party has announced the Stree Samriddhi Samman Yojana to target women voters. Under this scheme, adult women will be provided an annual pension of Rs 40,000 if the party forms the government in the state. The party has assured that the pension amount will also see an increase every single year.
Key Welfare Promises for Women and Female Students
Unveiling the scheme in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that progress remains incomplete without the development of women. He pledged that women's security would remain non-negotiable under Samajwadi Party governance. Describing the Stree Samriddhi Samman Yojana as a commitment to complete freedom for women, he stated that dedicated ambulance services for women would also be launched. Additionally, the party promised that every female student passing the 12th grade exams will be awarded a laptop.
Financial Security and Gender Respect
Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri Dimple Yadav reinforced the announcement, highlighting that society must consistently show respect toward women. She stated that under the Stree Samriddhi Samman Yojana, eligible women will receive Rs 40,000 annually, with fixed yearly increases built into the pension structure to ensure long-term support.
Criticism of Opposition and Demand for Reservation
Taking aim at CM Yogi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the ruling administration, remarking that people who lack understanding are now talking about distributing tablets. He alleged that women empowerment has been reduced to a mere political slogan for the BJP. Demanding concrete action, he urged the BJP to implement women's reservation in the upcoming assembly elections.
