In a major push to overhaul the urban sanitation framework and streamline doorstep waste collection, the Jodhpur Municipal Corporation has initiated a fresh drive by dispatching a new fleet of garbage collection vehicles. These newly inducted vehicles are being allocated to various municipal wards strictly in accordance with local population density and geographical area coverage, ensuring that waste collection services reach the maximum number of households efficiently. The administration's core focus extends well beyond merely picking up garbage; it encompasses real-time vehicle tracking, consistent collection schedules, and enforcing the segregation of wet and dry waste at the source.
Leaders Flag Off The New Sanitation Fleet
The flagging-off ceremony was led by Mayor Prasanand Mehta, City MLA Atul Bhansali, and Deputy Mayor Vijay Singh Panwar, who jointly dispatched the vehicles to their designated zones. The event witnessed the active presence of Municipal Commissioner Rahul Jain, alongside a host of municipal officials, local ward councillors, and prominent public representatives. The overarching objective of the municipal body is to elevate the efficacy of waste management across all city wards and guarantee unhindered, regular garbage collection from every residential doorstep.
Allocation Based On Ward Demographics And Area
Elaborating on the distribution strategy, Mayor Prasanand Mehta stated that the civic body is continuously striving to transform the city into a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing urban space. Vehicles are being allotted by thoroughly evaluating the population figures and territorial expanse of each ward. This targeted approach ensures that adequate logistical resources are directed toward localities with higher waste management demands. Mehta emphasized that administrative oversight and necessary operational refinements are being implemented continuously to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Digital Mapping Deployed For Comprehensive Monitoring
To ensure absolute transparency and efficiency, the municipal corporation has developed an advanced mapping system designed to track the daily operations of the garbage collection fleet. Through this digital interface, authorities can seamlessly monitor the exact routes taken by the vehicles, the total number of houses covered during a shift, and the cumulative volume of waste collected. This technological intervention eliminates gaps in transit and ensures accountability. Furthermore, the Mayor urged residents to dispose of their household waste strictly during designated hours and to segregate biodegradable wet waste from dry waste before handing it over to the collection crew.
Targeting Enhanced Cleanliness Ahead Of Diwali
Deputy Mayor Vijay Singh Panwar highlighted that revamping sanitation across every neighbourhood ahead of the Diwali festival remains a top priority for the administration. To achieve this, a special cleanliness campaign has been underway since October 14, deploying dedicated ward-wise teams and bolstering resources to resolve any collection bottlenecks immediately. Concurrently, City MLA Atul Bhansali underscored that given Jodhpur's expanding population and widening geographical footprint, reinforcing waste management infrastructure is an absolute necessity. He stressed that collective participation from elected representatives, civic officials, municipal workers, and everyday citizens is vital for the success of this cleanliness initiative, urging everyone to cooperate with the daily collection routine.
