A shocking incident of violence reported from the government-run juvenile observation home in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar city has left the local administration on high alert. Late Wednesday evening, a warden posted at the facility was brutally attacked inside the premises, resulting in his immediate death. Initial findings suggest that an altercation broke out inside the center, following which a group of juvenile delinquents joined forces to assault the official. The sudden escalation caused widespread panic and commotion throughout the observation home campus, prompting an urgent police response.
Victim Identification and Initial Altercation
Police confirmed that the deceased warden was Sahab Ram Delu, a resident of Ambe Vihar. Sahab Ram was an ex-serviceman who took up the responsibilities of a warden at the juvenile care center after completing his military service. According to preliminary details gathered from the site, nearly 24 juvenile inmates were present inside the remand home when the incident occurred. A dispute reportedly flared up between the warden and some of the youths over an undisclosed issue. The argument quickly escalated into physical aggression, with several juveniles alleged to have repeatedly struck Sahab Ram on the head. The impact of the head injuries was so severe that he succumbed on the spot.
Police Deployment and Forensic Analysis
Upon receiving word of the fatal assault, Superintendent of Police Harishankar along with senior police officers and a heavy deployment of force rushed to the scene to take charge of the situation. Law enforcement personnel immediately cordoned off the crime scene to preserve vital evidence. While authorities have not yet officially named the specific weapon or object used in the brutal attack, specialized investigative units were called in to standardise evidence collection. Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the Mobile Forensic Unit (MOB) thoroughly inspected the site, gathering physical samples, finger impressions, and structural details to piece together the sequence of events.
CCTV Review and Inmate Interrogation
Investigating officers are relying heavily on technology and direct questioning to solve the case. Police teams are meticulously examining every frame of the CCTV camera recordings installed across the facility. The surveillance footage is expected to provide definitive clarity on who initiated the assault, how many inmates participated, and the precise timeline of the attack. Simultaneously, police are interrogating all 24 juvenile inmates residing in the facility to ascertain the exact motive behind the conflict and define the specific role played by each individual.
