Auto-dumper collision in UP's Sambhal kills five, including two children; six hurt

In Sambhal, a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a dumper on the Moradabad-Agra highway killed five people, including a four-month-old girl, and left six others injured.

A horrific road accident shook Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district on Sunday morning when a passenger-laden auto-rickshaw collided head-on with an oncoming dumper truck on the Moradabad-Agra national highway. The crash, which occurred near Bamneta village under the Bahjoi police station area, killed five people, including a four-month-old infant and another child, while six others were left injured.

How the Crash Unfolded

The auto was travelling from Bahjoi towards Chandausi when the driver spotted a differently-abled person crossing the road on a tricycle near Bamneta village. In an attempt to avoid hitting the tricycle, the driver lost control of the vehicle, sending the auto crashing directly into the dumper coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the auto was crushed almost beyond recognition. The force of the collision also knocked the dumper off course, causing it to overturn by the roadside.
