Police in Uttar Pradesh are working to unravel a deeply mysterious and disturbing case after a woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The heavily decomposed body of a woman, believed to be around 50 years old, was recovered from a locked rented room situated within the Tronica City police station jurisdiction in Pooja Colony, Ghaziabad. The grim discovery has sent shockwaves through the entire neighborhood, raising serious concerns as the victim's husband and their seven-year-old daughter have been missing ever since the incident came to light, prompting investigators to probe the angle of a potential homicide.
Foul smell and flies alert neighbors
The sequence of events unfolded when local residents caught a strong and pungent odor emanating from a residential building. By Monday morning, as the stench intensified significantly and a large swarm of flies gathered around the closed door, anxious neighbors grew suspicious and promptly alerted local authorities. Police officers along with a forensic team rushed to the location and had the locked door forced open. The sight inside stunned everyone present, as the woman's remains lay in a severely deteriorated and rotting condition.
Through initial identification procedures, the deceased was named as Pramila, also known as Sushila, who hailed from Muzaffarpur in Bihar. She had moved into this rented accommodation barely ten days prior alongside her husband Pawan and their seven-year-old daughter Vidya. Looking at the state of the corpse, preliminary estimates suggest that the death likely occurred three to four days before it was discovered.
Frequent disputes and ongoing manhunt
During the inquiry, investigators also uncovered that this was Pramila's second marriage. Information gathered from locals indicated that the couple frequently engaged in domestic quarrels and arguments. This volatile history, combined with the abrupt disappearance of the husband and child following the tragedy, has deepened suspicions. The body has been transferred for a post-mortem examination, which is expected to shed light on the exact cause of death once the final medical report is prepared.
Loni ACP Ram Kishan stated that multiple police teams are actively conducting raids across potential hideouts to track down the absconding husband. Authorities reiterated that every single aspect of the case is being thoroughly examined, and further legal steps will be determined strictly based on the autopsy findings and collected evidence.
