Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath used a visit to the temple town of Ayodhya to unveil a set of announcements for anganwadi workers and helpers. During the event, he distributed sarees to workers and helpers and handed appointment letters to newly recruited anganwadi workers and helpers. From the same stage, he announced a sharp hike in the honorarium paid to anganwadi workers.
Honorarium jumps for both workers and helpers
The Chief Minister said anganwadi workers, who were earlier paid Rs 8,000 a month, will now receive Rs 12,000. The honorarium for anganwadi helpers has also been revised upward, rising from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. The hike is being seen as significant relief for thousands of anganwadi workers and helpers across the state.
Chocolates for children, honours for toppers and supervisors
During the programme, the Chief Minister moved among young children and handed out chocolates to them. Students who had performed well academically were called on stage and presented with certificates of appreciation. Anganwadi supervisors recognised for their good work were also felicitated on stage by the Chief Minister, lifting the mood among the anganwadi staff present at the event.
Cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh
Beyond the pay hike, the Chief Minister made another major announcement for anganwadi workers and helpers. They will now be entitled to cashless medical treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh if they fall ill, meaning they will not have to spend money from their own pocket during treatment. The decision is being viewed as a major step in the interest of anganwadi workers and helpers.
CM heads to Ramlala darshan after the event
Once his address concluded, Yogi Adityanath left the GIC venue for Ayodhya Dham. There, he will first offer prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple before proceeding to have darshan of Ramlala. Ahead of the Chief Minister's visit, the administration has put tight security arrangements in place across the city.
