Gujarat's state government carried out a sweeping bureaucratic reshuffle on Tuesday, moving 28 IAS officers to new postings in a single order. The most talked about move on the list is Junagadh Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prabhav Joshi, who is being shifted to the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) as Joint MD barely two months after taking charge as the city's civic chief. He will be replaced in Junagadh by I R Wala, currently Secretary of the Sports Authority of Gujarat.
Changes stretch from Dahod to Surat and the energy sector
The transfer list also includes Dahod's District Development Officer (DDO) Smit Santosh Lodha, who has been made Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Surat. Separately, GH Makwana, Managing Director of the Gujarat Energy Development Agency, has been handed charge as Managing Director of Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited.

KJ Rathod, Director of Skill Development, has been appointed Managing Director of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Corporation Limited, with PB Rathod, CEO of the Gujarat Waqf Board, taking over his earlier post. Porbandar Municipal Commissioner HJ Prajapati has been sent to Amreli as District Development Officer, while SR Rameshchandra, CEO of the Surat Urban Development Authority, steps into the Porbandar post. Mahesh Jani, Chairman of the Gujarat State Social Welfare Board, becomes Managing Director of the Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission, and MP Pandya, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, has been named Managing Director of Gujarat Medical Services Corporation Limited.
New DDOs for Dwarka, Gandhinagar and Dangs
KP Joshi, Managing Director of West Gujarat Vij Company Limited, has been made the new District Development Officer of Devbhoomi-Dwarka, while DK Brahmbhatt, Managing Director of Gujarat Medical Services Corporation, takes over as DDO of Gandhinagar. KS Jhanla, Joint Managing Director of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, has been appointed DDO of Dangs-Ahwa. MK Joshi, Secretary of the Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board, has also been transferred and will now serve as CEO of the Development Support Agency of Gujarat.
13 GAS officers also reassigned
Alongside the IAS reshuffle, the government issued separate orders transferring and appointing 13 Class-I officers of the Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) in the Selection and Senior Pay Scale categories. VK Patel has been made Executive Director of GIDC, AK Prajapati becomes Director of the Aravalli-Modasa District Rural Development Agency, DN Satani takes over as Joint Director of the Civil Supplies Department in Gandhinagar, GV Miyani has been appointed Secretary of the Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board, and YS Chaudhary becomes Joint Managing Director of the Gujarat Tourism Corporation.
