Severe organizational repercussions have hit the Bharat Adivasi Party in the wake of disappointing outcomes in the recent local body elections across Rajasthan. National President Mohanlal Rot has officially dissolved the entire district executive committee for Banswara. This major punitive step followed a detailed performance review of party-backed candidates who contested races for the Banswara Municipal Council, Kushalgarh Municipality, and Garhi Municipality, where electoral results fell well short of expectations. Simultaneously, a leadership change was enacted in Dungarpur, resulting in the removal of District President Anutosh Rot.
Strict Action Taken in Banswara Over Poll Defeat
The local election outcomes delivered a heavy blow to the party framework, prompting top leadership to enforce stringent corrective measures. According to National President Mohanlal Rot, candidates backed by the party across the three municipal bodies in Banswara failed to perform up to the required standard. Following a thorough evaluation of the voting tallies, the entire Banswara district executive was dissolved to address these shortcomings and restructure local leadership.
Extensive Candidate Deployment Yields Limited Wins
Ahead of the polls, the party mounted a notable campaign by fielding a total of 79 candidates across various local councils. This included 12 contenders in the Dungarpur Municipal Council, 20 in the Banswara Municipal Council, 6 in the Pratapgarh Municipal Council, alongside nominees in Salumbar and other regional bodies. Despite fielding this wide slate, only 8 party candidates managed to secure victory. The successful wins were limited to just 3 wards in the Dungarpur Municipal Council, 4 wards in the Sagwara Municipality, and a single ward in the Salumbar Municipal Council, reflecting a steep challenge for the party's local grassroots support.
Constitutional Term Limit Triggers Dungarpur Change
While Banswara faced executive dissolution due to electoral setbacks, the transition in Dungarpur stemmed from procedural guidelines. Regarding Dungarpur District President Anutosh Rot, the party implemented a separate administrative decision. In accordance with the internal party constitution, the tenure of a district president is capped at three years. Upon the completion of this mandated term, he was relieved of his duties in strict adherence to organizational regulations.
Uncertainty Over Upcoming Appointments
Attention has now shifted toward how the party plans to rebuild its local leadership structure. Observers are closely watching to see who will be entrusted with steering the new team in Banswara and who will be appointed as the incoming district president in Dungarpur.
