A major targeted killing was averted in Rajasthan's Churu district after the Anti-Gangster Task Force intercepted two armed suspects before they could execute their plan. Law enforcement officials acted on actionable intelligence regarding suspicious movements in the area, catching both operatives before any violence could break out.
Interception Along The Churu-Sardarshahar Road
The enforcement operation was executed along the busy Churu-Sardarshahar highway. Task force officers tracked the suspicious behavior of the two individuals and swiftly moved in to detain them. Following their arrest, the suspects were identified as Anil Kumar and Nitesh Bagri. Preliminary inquiries conducted by investigators revealed direct connections between the duo and the criminal network run by Rohit Godara and Mahendra Dhelana.
Seizure Of Foreign Firepower And Live Rounds
A physical search of the suspects led to the recovery of sophisticated weaponry. Officers seized two imported Zigana pistols manufactured in Turkey, along with a cache of 49 live cartridges. The scale of the recovered firepower indicates that the operatives were positioned to carry out an immediate, lethal assault.
Interrogation Underway To Trace Weapons Pipeline
IPS officer Abhijeet Singh Patil formally briefed the media during a press conference on Wednesday to share details of the operation. He explained that operational teams acted decisively after verifying reports of suspicious activities along the transit corridor. Police custody has been secured to interrogate both operatives thoroughly, focusing on identifying the supply line that delivered Turkish-made firearms into their possession and determining the exact target assigned to them. Further investigation into the broader conspiracy remains ongoing.
