Law enforcement authorities in Rajasthan's Dhaulpur district have apprehended a notorious history-sheeter during a crackdown on illicit weapons. The operation was carried out by the Sone Ka Gurja police station team, who detained the suspect, identified as Nahne alias Anar Singh. According to investigators, the criminal was roaming the area plotting a major offence when intercepted by patrol officers.
Seizure of Firearm, Ammunition, and Stolen Vehicle
Upon searching the detained suspect, officers recovered a.315 bore country-made pistol along with 10 live cartridges and 2 spent shells. In addition to the illegal firearms and ammunition, police impounded the two-wheeler he was riding, which turned out to be a stolen motorcycle.
Criminal Record Spanning Roughly a Dozen Major Offences
The suspect is a registered history-sheeter from the Angai police station and holds a lengthy criminal record. Officials stated that around a dozen serious cases have been filed against him across multiple jurisdictions. These charges involve violent assaults, housebreaking, theft, robbery, abduction, rape, and violations under the Arms Act. His involvement had also surfaced recently in an incident in Kaharpura, where nighttime firing was carried out to incite panic among local residents.
Heightened Vigilance Ahead of Panchayati Raj Polls
The arrest was conducted under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan. District authorities noted that tight surveillance has been placed on hardened offenders and history-sheeters in light of the forthcoming Panchayati Raj elections. Police have initiated detailed interrogations with the suspect, and further disclosures regarding unresolved crimes in the region are expected.
