He had sustained multiple severe stab wounds to his chest, abdomen, and other parts of his body. He was rushed to the Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital; however, medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Police reports state that the area near the canal was notorious for sludge, filth, and lack of sanitation, with locals often defecating in the open, which contributed to the accumulation of muck. This triggered an immediate verbal argument between the victim and the group, which quickly morphed into a violent scuffle.
