A disturbing and tragic incident has emerged from the Ashok Vihar area in North-West Delhi, where a 34-year-old man named Bansi Lal was murdered on July 9. Law enforcement authorities have apprehended five minors in connection with this heinous crime. The investigation indicates that the violent altercation was ignited by a trivial incident involving mud splashing during rainy conditions, which rapidly escalated into a lethal confrontation.
Found in Unconscious State
According to police officials, the victim was employed at a CCTV equipment shop located in the Lala Lajpat Rai Market of Old Delhi. On the day of the incident, he was near the Prem Bari Pul bridge in Keshav Puram when he was discovered in an unconscious state. He had sustained multiple severe stab wounds to his chest, abdomen, and other parts of his body. He was rushed to the Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital; however, medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The Argument Over Splashed Mud
Police reports state that the area near the canal was notorious for sludge, filth, and lack of sanitation, with locals often defecating in the open, which contributed to the accumulation of muck. On the day of the crime, as Bansi Lal was passing through this muddy stretch, mud accidentally splashed onto a group of boys standing nearby. This triggered an immediate verbal argument between the victim and the group, which quickly morphed into a violent scuffle.
Fatal Stabbing Attack
During the struggle, the situation turned critical when one of the teenagers in the group allegedly produced a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds on Bansi Lal. The other boys present at the scene reportedly assisted in the assault. After executing the attack, the suspects fled the scene. A case of murder has been officially registered, and the police have initiated legal proceedings against those involved.
Police Apprehend Five Minors
Following the crime, the police launched an extensive investigation, which included scanning multiple CCTV camera footages from the surrounding vicinity to trace the perpetrators. Based on technical evidence and intelligence gathered from local sources, the police successfully identified the five minors and took them into custody. The weapon used in the crime has also been seized by the authorities. The police team is currently interrogating the apprehended minors to understand the sequence of events leading up to the murder.
