A horrific collision between a car and a dumper truck claimed three lives near the Yamuna bridge in Paonta Sahib, while six people were injured after a state transport bus overturned in Kullu.

A catastrophic late-night highway accident claimed three lives in the Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. The incident took place around 11 pm near the Govindghat barrier on the Yamuna bridge, situated along the Himachal-Uttarakhand border in Paonta Sahib. A fast-moving car en route from Paonta Sahib towards Dehradun rammed into a dumper truck moving ahead of it, leaving the smaller vehicle completely mangled due to the massive impact.

Victims Trapped in Crushed Vehicle, Declared Dead at Hospital

The impact of the crash was so severe that the front section of the car was obliterated, trapping all three occupants inside the mangled wreckage. Local residents who witnessed the horrific crash immediately alerted law enforcement authorities. Personnel from the Paonta Sahib police station reached the spot and, with assistance from local residents, extricated the victims from the vehicle. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Paonta Sahib via a 108 ambulance, where medical officers examined them and declared all three dead on arrival due to fatal injuries sustained on the spot.

Police identified the deceased as 32-year-old Tarsem Singh, 37-year-old Amit Kumar, and Sonu. According to police officials, the deceased were residents of Sirmour, Muzaffarnagar, and Noida. Law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation into the crash and are actively searching for the driver of the dumper truck involved in the collision.

State Transport Bus Overturns Near Bashing in Kullu

In a separate road mishap on Saturday, a Himachal Roadways bus carrying passengers from Manali to Pathankot overturned near Bashing in Kullu district. Superintendent of Police Kullu Abhishek Shekhar stated that the accident occurred around 6 am when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the bus flipping over onto the road.

Six Injured Transported to Regional Hospital for Treatment

Six people sustained minor injuries in the Kullu accident, including the bus driver and the conductor. Local police quickly responded to the scene and transported all six injured individuals to the Regional Hospital in Kullu for medical care. The accident follows another recent mishap in Himachal Pradesh near Peer Nigaha, where more than 50 pilgrims suffered injuries when a truck plunged into a gorge.

Karan, I'm not sure about the dumper's speed, but looking at such a bad crash, the car itself must have been going really fast.
